Little moments of happiness

Dear Jon:

In an effort to help you understand emotions, we started playing a sad/mad/glad game with you some months ago. It consists of each of us telling stories about what made us sad, mad or glad in a given day. You always insist on asking us the question before you tell your story. And sometimes, you name the same event as something that made you both sad and glad, which, I guess, can very well be correct (going to school made you sad because you didn't want to see mommy leave and glad because you did lots of fun things).

Today, when playing the game in the car on the way home, you told me that nothing made you mad or sad during the day. The thing that made you glad was seeing a squirrel run up a tree. I think this was a really good day.

Wishing for many more days like this,
Mom
