This year, you made tremendous progress in reading and writing. Before you moved to a new school in January, you had a teacher who was truly one in a million. She made writing fun, and you seemed to really enjoy writing, retelling stories, making books. Since moving to the new school, your enthusiasm waned, and also you simply don't have an opportunity to write as much. Writing stories is part of you curriculum only once a week. But there must also be a daily requirement to write a sentence on the back of the math or spelling worksheets. Below is a sampling of Friday writing workshop and one-sentence gems from the back of the worksheets.
February 12: Snow
I like to drik hot cocoa and go to Deep Creec Lak and play with Sky in there cabin in Deep Ceep. We stay ovre nihte at Sky cabin in Deep Creep. They have a lote of snow! Booya! Thas wut I toking ubuot. I like sleding with him and playing with Sky and wen me and Sky are dun playing outside, we go in side and drik hot choklit. I take snowbting lesiz in Deep Ceerc.
February 15: Valentine's day
Valentine's Day was osom. We had a prte in are clasroom and we play'd bigow [bingo]. My grapa and gramu left on Valentine's Day and I was very sad. They woch't me and Cole on the weekend. We had tinz of fun and we play'd Mrio crt. Gramu was not gud at it but grapu was.
February 25
On Saturday my dad is comeing back from Las Vegas. I am very happy that he is comeing back. He went there for work. Proble my brother Cole will be happy too see him.
March 2: My favorite Dr. Seuss Book
My favorite Dr. Suss book is If I ran The Zoo. I like because it has so much amajnarae [imaginary] anmls. I like the ten leged lien and the reele long nek't berd.
March 8 (after a field trip to Petco)
My favorite animal at Petco was the farotts. We named one JoJo and one JJ. They where very very very cuet. I olsow liked the sake. Josh's mom was are letr [leader] and she was very nis. Me and Josh toked on the bus.
March 11
This weekend I will play with my friends. I will fix my jubo fun ball. I will lisin to storees and play with my dad. I will play with my legos.
March 18
On the weekend I will get my DS.Lite and it costs 130 dolrs. I will get a case to and it hols the charger for the DS. Lite adn eight gams. I will like it very very much and my brother will get my leapster. he is thee and his name is Cole. I will play with my friends, my brother and my mom and dad.
